An AI agency directory should help you compare partners. Most are paid listings, category cards, and a “top 10” where the author puts themselves first. This page is the map: the six categories you searched, how to choose, and the gap no directory covers (Mexico–U.S. freight).

What an AI-agency “directory” is

Anyone searching “AI agency directory” or “compare agencies in Spain and Latam” wants to filter by need, read cards, and ask for two or three proposals. That is a marketplace. We do not run one: there are no 33 verified agencies, no 70 cities, and no euro prices on this page.

The 6 categories (with a freight example)

Directories that rank today use these six cards. Useful as a taxonomy. Useless if you do not translate them to the trip.

Automation

What it is: Rules, RPA, Make/Zapier flows.

When yes: Stable screen, high volume.

When not (freight): 20 carrier portals. See RPA.

Autonomous agents

What it is: Goal + tools + memory.

When yes: Close a trip or hold a payment.

When not (freight): If you only want a chat. See AI worker.

Voice agents

What it is: Calls: appointment, confirm, chase.

When yes: Yard appointment or load confirm with an ID.

When not (freight): A generic “any small business” call center.

Integrations

What it is: CRM, ERP, WhatsApp connectors.

When yes: When there is an API and a data owner.

When not (freight): A connector does not audit Carta Porte.

AI consulting

What it is: Diagnostic, roadmap, hours.

When yes: Align the board and the process before you buy.

When not (freight): A slide does not chase the POD.

Chatbots and LLMs

What it is: A channel that answers or drafts.

When yes: Internal FAQ, first filter.

When not (freight): Does not write to the TMS or open an exception ticket.

Filter by the missing work, not by the brightest tile. How to choose is below, in the same brief.

Agency vs lab vs platform vs workers

The directory mixes jobs. Split them before you send the RFP.

JobWhat it leaves youProof
Project agencyA chatbot or a sprintA deliverable and hours. Then they leave.
Lab / researchA paper or a lab pilotIt does not run your tower.
Platform / suiteLicenses and a studioWho closes the trip on Monday?
Workers in your TMSExecution + ticket + file6–8 week pilot. Hours and pesos.
Four purchases. An RFP that mixes them brings incompatible demos.

Mexico 2026: what has a source

There is demand. You do not have to invent market size or a failure rate.

Microsoft’s 2025 Work Trend Index (Source LATAM) reports that 89% of business leaders in Mexico planned to bring digital agents onto the team that year, and that 51% prioritize expanding capacity with digital labor in 12–18 months. That is buying intent, not a closed freight file.

We do not repeat “32 billion pesos” or “87% of AI initiatives fail”: we did not find a public 2025–2026 source that holds them. We also do not recycle lists where a firm names itself number one and cites client logos we did not audit.

Mexico’s logistics cost is about 13–14% of GDP (CPI via T21, May 2026). That is where a partner who never touches the trip does not move the needle.

Latam, Spain, and the corridor (not 70 cities)

Same language. Different system of record. You do not need a Madrid, Barcelona, and every-capital doorway.

  • Mexico–U.S.: Carta Porte, CFDI, crossing, WhatsApp with a trip ID, Finance that pays or holds.
  • Latam: stacks differ by country; do not copy a Google-reviews playbook as if it were a tower.
  • Spain: GDPR, Make/Zapier, and capture agencies. Useful for marketing. It does not cover a dock in Nuevo Laredo.
  • U.S. Spanish: the same corridor shipper; the partner must speak yard and POD, not only LinkedIn.

How to compare partners (one brief)

Directories propose: filter, compare cards, ask for 2–3 proposals, ask for advice. For a 3PL or shipper COO the order is different: one brief, the same tests.

Shipment-tracking screen: the side-by-side test is won in the TMS, not on a directory card
Same brief to 2–3 partners. The winner writes to the trip and opens a ticket, not the one with more cards.

Side-by-side test

One brief, three tests

  1. One brief

    One corridor, one KPI

  2. TMS?

    Writes to the ID

  3. Ticket?

    Human owner

  4. Pilot

    6–8 weeks

Do not compare avatars. Compare the trip file.

Smoke signals

If you see this and nothing else, it is not a directory: it is an ad.

  • A “top 10 AI firms in Mexico” where the author is number one.
  • Cards with euro prices and “free forever” and no auditable tower case.
  • “33 verified” / “70 cities” without saying who verifies or what they operate.
  • Novartis, FEMSA, or Disney logos as if they were your trip file.
  • Market or failure figures with no link to a public report.

The case the directory does not cover

A Mexico–U.S. operator does not need a chatbot shop in Madrid. They need workers that cover, book the dock, chase POD, audit the invoice, and open a ticket when it breaks.

OCL Cargo is not the marketplace. It is an autonomous TMS with AI workers in three lanes: Sales, Scheduling and Tracking, Documentation and compliance. Cycle: Booking, Planning, Build, Execution, POD, and Finance. Published case: 2,250 invoices, MXN $3.6M, 5.7%.

If you searched “best AI agencies Mexico,” the next step is not another list. It is a diagnostic on one corridor.

Key takeaways5 points
  1. A useful directory is a decision map. It is not a paid listing with 800-euro monthly cards or a top 10 where the author is first.
  2. The six SERP categories (automation, agents, voice, integrations, consulting, chatbots) are chosen by the work, not by the tile.
  3. Mexico 2026: Microsoft reports 89% of leaders planned to bring in digital agents; 51% prioritize capacity with digital labor in 12–18 months. Intent is not a closed trip file.
  4. Compare 2–3 partners with the same brief: do they write to the TMS? Open a ticket? Run a 6–8 week pilot? Touch Carta Porte and Finance?
  5. OCL does not run this directory. If the pain is a Mexico–U.S. trip, the product is AI workers, not a Madrid chatbot shop.

Does the directory not tell you who closes the trip?

In 30 minutes we look at one corridor and whether the partner (or the AI workers) write to the TMS, open a ticket, and leave a file. This is not “browse the directory.”
