Manual vs RF vs automated (and barcode–SKU)
Method organizes the work; technology decides whether you verify in the moment or discover the error in the claim. Three practical layers:
- Manual (paper / list): cheap to start · fragile with look-alike SKUs and peaks. Accuracy lives in floor discipline.
- RF (radio frequency / handheld): the operator scans location and barcode · ties the line to the master SKU. The serious minimum for multi-SKU corridor CEDIS.
- Automated / assisted: pick-to-light, voice, goods-to-person, or robots. Productivity rises when layout and master data are already clean · it does not fix a chaotic SKU.
